Each year support agreements with vendors like Symantec, VMware, Trend Micro, and Citrix, are up for renewal. Having a support agreement generally entitles the customer to priority technical support, new releases of software, discounts and deals, and provides peace of mind that if something goes wrong they will receive support from the vendor.

The other side of the coin is all about hardware. The hardware that your company considers mission critical should have, at minimum, a warranty that includes 3 year / 365 days a year / 6 hour on site response time support. Faster response and a longer warranty are highly desirable, and extended warranty and support obtained at purchase time is well worth the cost. We know this from experience with out of warranty equipment.

Vendor support outside of warranty is very expensive, with many vendors charging upwards of $200 ex GST an hour simply to have a person on site. Fortunately, most vendors sell warranty packs that cover out of warranty equipment, or upgrade existing warranties. We're able to supply these warranty packs, and arrange upgraded warranties at time of purchase.
